Empowerment through Employment
VOCATIONAL EVALUATION /SITUATIONAL ASSESSMENT:
The program provides vocational testing and on the job work
evaluations, often leading to employment.
CAREER OBSERVATION: An individual is given
the opportunity to visit businesses and observe/talk to employees
who do jobs the client might be interested in pursuing.
CARREER EXPLORATION: An individual who does
not have specific vocational goals has the opportunity to try
a job for a short duration to help decide if the field is of interest.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING/ WORK SERVICES/ WORK HARDENING:
An opportunity for participants to work on a variety of jobs
in one of CW's centers under professional supervision. Quality,
productivity and consistency of performance are stressed to enhance
work skills.
DAY SERVICE OPTION: Individuals participate
in a variety of leisure, recreational, work and community activities
which focus on personal growth and satisfaction.
COMMUNITY/SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT: In preparation
for individual placement, participants work in group employment
in the community, designed to promote the learning of new skills
and tasks.
INDIVIDUAL JOB PLACEMENT: Individuals are assisted
in finding competitive employment which meets their interests and
skills.
TRANSITIONAL EMPLOYMENT: The program offers
qualified persons the opportunity to work in a community work environment.
CW provides individualized support services to meet the needs of
both employee and employer for a specific period of time.
SUPPORTED LIVING: Individualized support and
training, as necessary, in a residential setting, to promote the
maximum level of independence.
